Euro 123

I have a 1984 Euro 123 with 243 engine. Seems the injection is unique and I have some probs getting it to run off idle. Is mechanical injection on the 190 four cyl engine. Next year or so they went to electrical injection and this setup seems to have been forgotten. i need some references that I can't seem to find to sort this out.

Thanks for any help.

Sparky

VIN is 1232431A---------. it has the 2.3motor with appears to be a kjet system with a couple of different things not on others I've seen. This one will start but won't rev. pump pressure is in 80s as I recall. seems the distributer won't respond to increased demand when opening the throttle. i may need to take another look at it. Will do & report back. not much on the thing to be had.

The way I see it, it must be this engine.

W123.223 1979–1985 230E 2.3 L M102 I4 136 PS (100 kW; 134 hp) @ 5100 201 N·m (148 lb·ft) @ 3500

Now I just went through all the W123 models built for Europe and I can't find any gasoline engine that was injected. None. I suspect it has a replacement engine installed.

All post 1981 W123 230's were injected - K jet.

June 1980 saw the introduction of new 4-cylinder petrol engines (Type M102). A new 2 litre four with shorter stroke replaced the old M115, a fuel-injected 2.3 litre version of this engine (in 230E/TE/CE) the old carbureted 230

1980/81 the carbureted 280 versions went out of production; the fuel-injected 280E continued to be offered.

I had a 1978 M115 230 carburetor W123 - it was a slug.

So, here it is from the German operator's manual: engine is a 102.980 2.3 fuel injected gasoline engine. Has kjet injection. I noticed the WUR seemed different from the 70s era 450s & 6.9s. Still the same idea though and shouldn't be too much of a thing to sort out. I need to get my head back into the procedure on v-8s w/kjet. Should be a nice driver if I can get it figured. 137 HP, 147 ft/lbs of torque in a 3036 lb curb weight car.
