1997 210 Security System Location?
Need help locating the Security System in a 1997-210 Model??? Can the Security System shut down the injectors? Can the Security System be disconnected? thanks for any forthcoming help... Jim

|
There are 2 types of security systems on that car.
1) is the ATA alarm system & tries to protect the car from being stolen. NOISE & Lights. 2) is the key recognition system (DAS) that requires having the correct key in the ignition. It will keep the engine from starting by shutting off the injection. ATA is controlled by the central locking. DAS is a separate computer that is MARRIED to the fuel system computer & can not be disconnected!

210 Non Starting
Doc, With a light hooked to a injector and when the key is actuated, the light flashes one time and the engine tries to fire 1 or 2 cylinders and then is dead.. It is a very dull sound. thanks for your earlier reply... jim
