95 e320 om104 engine swap update. Discon tranny?
I've been taking my time on the engine swap. Got a flywheel lock off ebay cheap and got a torque wrench that should allow me to torque down the crank shaft bolt after I renew the front seal.
Finally got 3/4 drive socket set too. Have needed one for a long time. Been following the script for removing the engine just like it says on the w124 service cds 30-0100. The procedure says to disconnect the wire harness for the w124 but to just leave it laying on the engine on the w140. I don't see why the w140 process won't work since I fed the end through the firewall and disconnected the terminator and the other non engine attach point. Disconnected the power steering pump and A/C compressor. Both are wired up. Bowden cable is disconnected. About ready to jack the car up and start disconnecting the parts to the tranny. Any short cuts on disconnecting the propeller shaft? Looks like that is very big wrench intensive if you follow the service manual. If all else fails off to harbor freight again. I'm hoping to finally pull the engine. Been working at this at a leisurely pace. Its not hard but hoping it pays off.
