W140 no start
Hey everyone,
I'm writting this post as I'm stranded on a gas station. The car 1997 S500 (200000miles) cranks - turns over, but doesn't run. I have a spark, I had a spare (new) cranksshaft sensor - I changed it (it is the simple 2 connector - but not adjustable - 2nd gen of M119 no distributors) I;ve checked the operation of the camshaft sensor (just with a basic multimeter). Seems to be OK. Car runned great - cold start, 1 mile to the gas station, started right up. I put another 60 miles on the car. Turned it off after returning to the car it won't start - the first time it had a tendency to run, but stalled after 1s. Since than it's just cranking and cranking but not running. I tried to spray some start fluid, it only runs for the duration of a 1s - but that comfirms the spark (no problem with DAS alarm system). Could it be just a silly fuel filter? I checked the fuel pump it is running fine - I don't have my pressure tester with me (, but what should be the pressure value for this car?) I have a 12V on one of the injector wires with the ignition. I don't have any other tools with me to check for pulse - osciloscope. Is there a relay / fuse for the computer? Location? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Mark. |
