1995 E320 Wagon Wont start

My 1995 E320 wagon wont start for some reason.

It was driving and running perfectly before hand with no history of not starting.
then after parking it for about an hour, i go to start it and nothing happens. battery is not dead. but starter wont engage and there is this buzzing sound from the driver side speaker area of the dash.

any help is appreciated. thank you.

Possibly ovp relay

hello,

here are a few suggestions:

the first and easiest thing to check would be fuses. open up the fuse box and make sure that fuse#5 is ok. if the fuse looks ok , give it a spin in its holder and then try to start the car.

another possibility would be the K38 relay(located behind instrument cluster)
see the following thread,, specifically step 4: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/269799-how-disable-alarm-1993-w124.html

if you are positive that the batt. is ok , and you have ruled out the above mentioned, then i believe that your problem may be a bad starter.

good luck

Put key in turn to start and hold it a minute,if she starts you will need a ignition switch.
If no go with ignition in run position reach starter and wire 1 wire on starter pole. The other on the solenoid pole,or if you can reach it,use screwdriver instead. Keep wires from touching and reconnect battery, and touch 2 wire together. This is called jumping the solenoid. If she starts cover both ends of wires so they won't touch ground.Order a starter.Becareful ordering a Bosch starter, some they ship are backwards.Look at photo first.

if you can get an occassional start out of it when cold. it could be a crank position sensor

Fuse check is good suggestion. Can't remember for sure but I think fuse 5 feeds the starter circuit.

Also might want to try to start with transmission in neutral. If it starts, problem is likely neutral safety switch. Do a search--lots of info on this common problem.

Hope his helps.

Hey, i realized I kinda abandoned this thread. My bad. It was the K38 Relay. It was buzzing. Pulled the one from the TD. Car started right up. Pulled one from pick and pull. Car is running perfectly.
