W201 Jacking/Lifting Points
Hey everyone,
Just had a question, When I jack up my 126's I typically use the support bearing bracket as a lift point and then place my jack stand on the factory lift pad just under the hole where the spare tire jack would go.. On my 201 there are support bearing brackets, so where would be the ideal place to lift from so that I could place a jack stand under the lift pad location? In the past I would jack the car up with my floor jack, then support it with the car's jack and jack hole..then place my stand but that was annoying and i don't really like that jack. More recently, I've been using two floor jacks. Lifting the vehicle up at the pad, removing the tire, placing the second jack at the rear connection point of the lower control arm, lifting the car, removing my big floor jack and replacing it with a stand... I figured I'd see what everyone else was doing.... |
for the front I would lift it near the jack points and place jack stands in the jack support bushings....using a wooden block of course. from the rear I would use the wooden block and jack to lift from the tow hook and place the jack stands on the support bushings

updating this thread..
I have found that I can use my small jack on the rear control arm mount, then place my stand under the normal lift point. for the rear, I use the differential. |
