Should be available at a dealer. You will probably need to show some proof of ownership (registration), VIN and ID (DL) as keys are controlled access. Also, you might want to shop around a little as dealer prices vary.

i contacted my local dealer.. they want me to tow th ec ar to the shop and then quote at least 300.00. I DONT THINK SO! Could i take out the trunk cylinder and bring to a locksmith, after all the key worked both?

Removing the trunk cylinder without the key may be a problem.
You have to remove the 4 8mm nuts and the one 10mm in the middle holding the black bar holding the cylinder. What may be a bit harder is that the central locking linkage is attached with a small screw to the plastic part of the cylinder, this may hard to reach. It may be necessary to drill a hole to access this screw if you can't turn the key. May be an other dealer is more helpful with a replacement key. Rob |

When you call the dealer ask for the parts department, not service. I got 2 keys for my 500SEL for $32 and a new ign lock cyl and 2 keys for my 300D for >$70.
