1986 Mercedes Sunroof Motor Adjustment?

Good evening all,

My sunroof motor assembly white knob broke off. Is it possible to adjust the speed and etc with the knob broken? Note the white knob on the assembly in the attached picture.

I actually found one at the local bone yard, and had it removed. The guy broke the same part while trying to remove it. 😕
