'86 420 SEL Master Cylinder
finally let go after, what? 26 years. I have a new one; could someone briefly describe how to change it? I am aware of basics like bench bleeding; I need specifics for this model as my old CD manual will no longer open.
What a car! |
I did this on my 85 190E back in the day. It just needed regular bleeding at all four wheels, but I remember the reservoir grommets had disintegrated as well and needed replacing.

Got it changed, easy enough, I did access the CD manual.
One question: with the Motive power bleeder, what do you do about the vents on the reservior? Fluid comesout mine when I try to pressure up about 5 psi to bleed. |
You need to plug them. Here's a tip where you just connect the two with fuel line.
