why does unlocking the front doors trigger the antenna?

on the 1993 300ce, when the key opens either front door the automatic antenna motor is activated. I can hear it. Does the wiring for these two units connect somewhere? A baffling electrical gremlin. Thanks.

Are you sure it's not the vacuum pump motor?

yes, i can hear the antenna motor as it continues to cycle - i stand right next to the rear fender.

do you know where the special equipment connector block is located? According to the wiring diagram I found in the Haynes manual, power via fuse 9 goes to that block, which distributes power to the antenna & door locking system.
