W123 Headlight assemblies in W124?

Alright, I have searched and found several posts where people want the newer assemblies in the older cars... but how about the people who want a more vintage look in the newer cars?

I really like the round look. Would the entire assembly fit? and are the wiring connections the same?
I believe I'd have to change out the side markers too, as the 123s have a rounded outside edge instead of straight.

Any thoughts?

The W123 assembly face is mostly vertical, the W124 is tilted back some. Plugs are the same though.

Thanks for the quick reply!
If the plugs are the same I'll just swap one out (when I find it) to see how they fit.

This car is right in my area....maybe I'll see it go by with its vintage lights sometime.

I can't believe I'm suggesting this but there's a range of W124 headlights with round elements on eBay.
