Both my 117 and 110 motors have a TDC pickup.

As near as I can figure the lead goes to the diagnostic plug.

Can anyone confirm my suspicion that the pickup is used solely for diagnostics?

I seem to remember reading that the TDC sensor at the front of the engine is for diagnostics only, and the timing sensor is at the flywheel.
