c230 drivers lower dash panel removal 1997

I have removed bolts, screws, and hood release but the lower dash panel will not come out. It looks to be held by a clip or something at the top of the lower panel on the left side of the steering wheel. I can pull the panels apart enough to see how it is being held. Could someone explain how to release.

After a couple of days I finally got it removed. There is a retaining clip that is about 3 to 4 inches to the left side of the steering wheel. You have to pull down on the top of the panel far enough to take a small thin screw driver and locate the clip. In the center of the clip you have to push down on a tab to release the panel. Mine was covered with leather from when they put the leather on the panel. I had to push through the leather to release the panel.
