SLK230comp. SLK320, opinions

Trying to figure out which one is better, SLK230 compressor or SLK320. Vintage 2000 area
My wife is set on getting a MB CLK conv. but trying to find one that is not gray or black its hard. Now she may be settling for the smaller conv. they have more color choices. I am trying to steer her in the direction that will create less work for me to keep it running.
Any opinions on motor/ tranny longevity and other issues. It has to be automatic.

They use the compressor to also provide air injection and I think some other things and the flaps and switchover valves to make that happen can be a bit finicky (set codes, nothing to render the car unuseable, just annoying and of course paying to have it fixed). I wouldn't refuse to buy a Kompressor if a deal ends up in front of you, but if you can find an earlier one without Kompressor I'd lean that way.

Thanks for your post. If I read correctly then I should go for the compressor less 6 cyl 320 instead of the 4 cyl 230 K

Sorry I had thought they made a Kompressor-less version first, I was thinking of the C Class. If you want the V6 that is fine, I wouldn't shy away from the 4 cyl, I guess worling in a MB shop at the time makes me say they are troublesome, there were many that had no problems. Am actually thinking on picking one up for the wife and I some time.
