Question Someone with the MB M103 manual

I'm thinking about ordering this book before I try to put my motor together. Does it contain all the torque specs?

The book is about 1 inch thick and is very detailed. Yes, it has all the torque specs.

I called MB USA and inquired about the M103 engine manual and was politely told that it was obsolete and no longer available. Anybody with the Technibooks manual? Can you assemble an engine from this one?

TMC Publications sells reprints of the factory manual for $90.

http://www.tmcpubl.com/mercedes.html

I have never purchased anything from them. I just found their site on the Internet when I was shopping for a manual.

Performance Products used to resale the MB books but they just told me they didn't anymore. The guy there also told me the Technibooks manual didn't have torque specs. If the TMC reprint is $90, I think I'll just order the complete 124 CD from Mercedes at $129. Update: Talked to Jeff at TMC, M103 Engine Manual is $75.

Interesting. What do you ever do to an engine that requires a manual but not torque specs?

Hardcopies of MB shop manuals are available on ebay from time to time. MB CDs are also available but you can't tell bootleg from original up front.

The nice thing about the CD set is that when you wise up and get a Diesel you don't need a new set of manuals.

I thought it odd that the Technibooks had no torque specs too. I have owned twenty one deisels and I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE SMELL of that fuel

CD 103 engine manual?

The CD version of the 103 Engine manual has 112 PDF files if youve got a high speed connection, you need something specific, and you know where it is in the manual, I could send you the proper file e-Mail if you need it quickly.
