C230 SPORT

Sanity check please. Am I missing something? Apparently my wife '06 C230 Sport sedan does not have a transmission fill tube. Nothing on the top right side of the engine. I’ve had it up on my lift and it does have a drain plug on the torque converter. Pan is easy to drop to change the filter. The cooling line is pretty simple to disconnect to drain the cooler. So I'm guessing it's like a Beemer and has a stand pipe in the pan. Is there an aftermarket pump with the correct pan fitting to refill it?
Oh, and like an idiot I already bought a dip stick.

TIA, Dave

Your suppositions are correct. There is no fill tube or dipstick. The transmission is filled from the bottom. The level is set by filling the transmission until the top of the standpipe is reached, then running the car until the transmission fluid reaches 45 degrees centigrade.

The service procedure is mostly the same as for any other transmission. The main caveat I see for the DIY mechanic is that to fill the transmission, the car must be both level and elevated enough to access the underside of the trans pan.

I've attached a PDF on the procedure which I picked up some time ago - forget where. It includes the part number for the fill fitting.

Cheers.
