Dome light
My dome light does not work when the doors are opened but it does work when the switch is position to on/map. Are there 2 bulbs in the light or just one? What could be wrong? The contacts on the doors are in working order because the door lights (bottom) light up when the doors open.

You don't say which car, but most have a slider switch. One position gives you a map l;ight, one shuts the dome light off completely and one psoition allows the dome light to come on when the doors are open. Is your switch set correctly?

Yes I have a slider and it is in the correct position for the dome light to luminate when the doors open.

You have a burned out light bulb......always look for the obvious first.
Easy fix, push the whole Map light console to the right (passenger side) and pull the left side down. Push the black lever in the center to the left and the light cover opens on hinges. Replace the 10A bulb.......takes all of 2 minutes. |
