300e master cylinder

Few days ago I had to brake real hard to avoid rear ending someone who cut me on off in traffic. Since then my barake pedal has become mushy and sinks a little more to the floor before the incident happend. Do you think it's time for a new master cylinder or the brake pads are worn? Both are about 2 years old since I replaced them. Brake fluid level is fine. Could this also mean the brake sysem needs to be bled?

When was the last time the fluid in the system has been flushed. When old fluid heats up and it has moisture in it one of the most common complaints is a mushy pedal.
