W126 front brake pads - Brand matter?
Quick question. Pretty sure I have ATE calipers and pads are bad. Wondering if I must use ATE pads or can I also use Bendix pads? Pelican only has OEM front pads for Bendix.

Off the top of my head, I don't recall having to consider caliper type when buying pads for my former W126.
Give them a phone call Monday and ask them, but make sure what type of caliper your car has first ! ![]()

So that's another perspective ! Both my 300D and former W126 use ATE calipers. Thanks for the pics.

LYL:
ATE and Bendix use the same pad. As a personal recommendation, Raybestos RPD145A has been very satisfactory in the matters of dust, wear, and noise. The equivalent rear pad is RPD96A |

Well mine are clearly ATE then. I am really sure they are because I have ATE part numbers for replacements I was looking at last fall also.
But either way, if either brake pad works I am going to order them. I plan to get unloaded rebuilds. God knows what pads come in rebuilds...
