Thanks for the info.
I have pulled the k40 out a few years back and re soldered the 3 problem connections. after this repair I didn't have the code I didn't see any oil on the wires but pulled the insulation back and soldered in a joint to act as the oil wick stop. I guess my next question would what to look for next? 1)Is the magnet that is bolted to the cam fixed tight in place and move with the cam or does it spin free? It spins free currently. I ask because my thinking is that if fixed tight it would show the movement of the cam. 2) How do I test the gray/brown wire control side is working? What reading reading should I be looking for? 3) Do I test the gray/brown wire on both ends and make sure there is not a break there? 4) Any suggestions? I know the background maintenance on the car as it was purchased new by my father. When he owned it is sat in the garage for 4 months at a time. Thanks for all your help. |
