W210 Ignition Switch Stuck 1997
Help. I work nights and on my way home I took a nap. When I woke up, my nightmare began. I could not turn the key and had the car towed home. I have tried most things to turn the key to the 1 position, no joy. Can I remove the ignition switch with the lock in 0 position.?? I have tried to press the pins; I cannot seem to go deep enough . How do I remove the steering lock and the threaded pin with a nut?.. Any suggestions I need my car back. Please help.
Thanks. |

Your key in switch has to turn to position 2, ive used an air hammer and lightly vibrated body of lock many times to unstuck key, but first try a new key if possible, you would have to remove panels and steering wheel trim covers to get a air hammer up there

Vibration
"Some" other owners have clamped their keys in Sanders to vibrate the
Key/"Leaves" in the ignition tumbler to get the needed #2 Position.
