03 e320 w211 rough idle misfire

In the article- 6-Cylinder Intake Manifold Replacement -in fig. 9 there is a small white hose with a black connector connected to small black hose. It is directly under the red arrow. I'm trying to identify it and it's function. Can anyone help?

The reason I ask is that before I removed the mass air flow unit I felt beneath it and found the hose and the connector disconnected. I see no way to reconnect the two ends. It has been worked on by previous owner.

Thanks, Dmitry. I did that yesterday under the tech article "6-Cylinder Throttle Housing Replacement" and have not gotten a response. Either article will serve to ID the part in question.
