1991 560SEL trunk liner snap - how to unsnap?

OK, here's the deal; I recently purchased a large bottle of Dawn dish detergent that came with a hand pump. BTW, if you ever get diesel oil on sheep skin seat covers, Dawn with a little rubbing will take it right out! Be sure and rinse the seat covers well afterwards. Moving on, coming home the Dawn turned over and a little spilled onto the left trunk liner (driver's side). I used a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water which helped to rinse it out, however it now smells a little like vinegar and so I would like to remove the left trunk liner and rinse with water and vacuum out and hang dry.

Only one problem, there is a snap that holds the left truck liner to the main truck liner....it is located directly under the brake light housing. It didn't easily unsnap, I don't want to break anything, is there a secret to removing the left most trunk liner?

It's just a push-pin; I have 500 holding my Cadillac together. Slide a screwdriver under the small head and pull it out a bit; then the large head will come right out. For the upper clips on the fender, pull down on the end underneath the fender and they will rotate down and out.

Thank you for the information; I'll try out your suggestions and post back here with the results. Next time I'll be more careful when transporting liquids or chemicals......

special thank you for the information on the snaps, the screw driver under the small head worked well.....now that the left liner is out of the car, I vacuumed it and examined it. It appears to be some type of fiber material. I was thinking of using a garden hose to rinse it but after examining it, I"m concerned that too much water may damage it. Perhaps a damp sponge instead?

The antenna is there. I wouldn't garden hose it if it were me.

Just clean it with a soapy sponge and spray bottle of dawn mixed with water.

The liner is now removed from the trunk so it would be easy to use a garden hose to rinse out the old dawn detergent and white vinegar (no risk to the antennae because the liner is OUT of the car and sitting on my kitchen floor waiting on my next move). Could too much water from the hose damage the liner?

I would not soak the material of the liner, I would assume it would damage it. A carpet cleaner would do an adequate job. I invested in a small one from Wal-Mart about a few years ago for cleaning a nasty interior in an MB. Well worth it and not expensive. Even came with a heater for the water. I just run Simple Green through it.
