'86 300e klima/fuse 7 woes

About a week ago my A/C stopped working suddenly -- the compressor wasn't kicking on. After a little testing I ordered a new Klima relay. Before the relay arrived I had a stall/no start situation in traffic. After the tow, my mechanic was able to restart things, but diagnosed a failing speed sensor which he replaced.

The klima relay arrived, I installed it and for a few minutes everything seemed find -- a/c worked. But driving the car the next morning the entire CC system was inoperative. I found fuse #7 blown. Replaced it and it blew right away. I put the bad klima relay back, replaced the fuse and everything (except the AC) is fine.

So now I have to figure out what might be shorting out with the new klima. Of course, there's always the possibility that the new kiima is bad.

Geoffrey
