air pump 500sel '85

I have discovered that the air pump is stack. I got it to work again but the clutch want engage. I tested the clutch and works fine. When does the clutch actually activate? does that thing run always? Or only under certain conditions?

Most of the time your air pump activates is first thing in the morning or on cold restarts.

as far as I know... the air pump is for smog purposes... so unless your area requires a smog check... id just leave it be...

What are you talking about? Illinois hounded me till I finally got the emissions to work fine on my car. They care.
