03 E320 has vibration when in drive

Hello and Happy Holidays !
I have a 2003 E320 with just over 80K.
Lately, I have noticed a little vibration when in gear. I have put in neutral at times to see if I felt the vibration and it goes away in nuetral but is felt in drive. I should mention that the car sounds a little different as well.
I have had the fluid checked for level and color, it is okay.
Anyone have an idea of what would cause the vibration?

Does it vibrate in drive when when standing still? If so I'd guess it was the transmission mount.

Thanks Liquiddog,
I think it does, the only time I don't feel the vibration is in park and neutral. I'll verify tomorrow.

Yup that'd be useful info. Keep in mind online diagnosis of vibrations is sort if throwing darts. Could be a lot of things, but the rear mount is a cheap/easy place to start.

Is the transmission fluid a nice deep red and the correct level? That'd be an easy check also.
