190e head job

I am in the middle of a head job on my 1985 190e 2.3 8V. I have the haed completely disassemlbed except for the valve guides. Which side of the head do I press the guides out from? Do I press from the top.. pushing them down or from the combustion chamber side up? Once this issue has ben solved, I am ready to put it all back together and celebrate the feel of a new engine!
I also am doing timing chain, tensioner, and new injector seals.
So far job has not been too difficult. I will post my final results.

Take this to a machine shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once you take out the guides, you have to put in new ones and cut the seats and lap the valves.

I agree with Donnie. Best to leave the machine work to the people that do it every day. Find a good automotive machine shop to do it and you will not go wrong.
