1986 Mercedes 300 SDL Sunroof Motor Issues

Good morning all,

I am having trouble with my sunroof motor. When attempting to close or open the sunroof I experience the roof not closing completely. I checked the motor and it is operational. I accidentally broke the know to the transmission part of the motor. Does the know outer portion being broken impact the operation. Is it possible to adjust the transmission to better operate the sunroof?

I have been having trouble locating a good used unit for replacement. Does any forum member have an extra one?
