Rewiring 92 300CE front driver seat to 89 300CE
Has anyone swapped a newer model 1992 300CE front driver seat into a 1989 300CE? The 92 uses a larger 10 pin connector vs the 89 using a large 16 pin connector. Also, the orientation for one of the 4 pin plugs is different so it does not fit.
I do have both diagrams, but I am wondering if someone has already done this and hopefully a write up so I do not have to start from scratch. |

Why don't you just swap the bases?
I.E., put the 92 seat on the 89 electric base. Only six fasteners to remove.... Jim

Didn't think about that at the time, but I came to that conclusion after realizing on the diagram that I just need to swap the controller out and the connections to the 5 motors are the same. I'll give that a try tonight, thanks!

I ended up just swapping the two control units and everything worked perfectly.
Top is the 89 controller with 16 pin plug and bottom is 92 controller with 10 pin plug. |
