low coolant light

coolant level low light comes going uphill but goes off quickly when driving level or start going downhill. Engine temp creeps towards 100C but then goes back to 80.
Coolant level looks OK. any ideas why is the light coming on?????

thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Me too although it has not done it as much lately. I mightt take the sensor out of the overflow tank and clean it if happens again.

replaced coolant level sensor

Same problem here. I had a dimmly lite coolant light that would lite whenever.

I bought a replacement coolant level senor at the dealer ($26)and installed it this afternoon in 10 minutes. I used my FatBoy oil drain can to suck the coolant out of the overflow tank so I could get the sensor out. Neat thing was I sucked out a lot of that brown gunk that had built up, especially where the sensor is located.
