W126 left rear doorcheck
 

My door on my 300sd would not close it was stuck open I removed the door panel and the door check. I noticed there is no grease and it does not slide. I was thinking of spraying with pb blaster and grease the track where it slides. Is there s trick to getting it to move from one position to the other or should I just go get a new one? Any help is appreciated

It has worked for 30 years and new ones are something like $25. I would get a new one.

I had one stick open and would not close, I too had to disassemble the door to remove it. Luckily the car was at home when this failed.
