Question fuel failure,1991 190E 2.6

I was stuck in Wally world parking lot with a no start situation I had fuel pumps running and fuel in the tank, but no fuel at the injectors. My daughter came and towed it home thanks baby, once home I began to search for the trouble, I dis mounted the fuel separator from the air flow housing and jumped the fuel pump to give constant fuel pressure at the distributor, this worked very well and I then pushed up on the pin and found no fuel travel to the spray nozzle ports, and I had hard pressure at the pin, so fuel had to be there.
I had it on my mind to back off the jam nut and turn the center section counter clock wise to see if the pin needed more travel for the fuel to travel to the spray nozzles, I hate to send this unit back to Larry for repairs if I can fix it myself. thanks for fix it info JNT. just an update, I spent some time looking at the plunger and the adjustment, I saw that the screw was three threads in from flush so I turned the inside nut counter clock wise till it was even with the jam nut. then jumped the fuel pump so as to get fuel pressure when I first depressed the pin it began to spew fuel I forgot to plug up the small line from distributor to the pressure regulator so I had some fuel coming out of the connection, after I plugged up the small line I had no fuel just as before, if I loosen it I get some fuel and what was air sound with it.
