sticky trip odometer

I'd like to give a shot of lubrication to a sticky 1/10 mile indicator on my 1990 300SE. Everytime this sticks it clicks when it finally moves. This annoying sticking and clicking happens about 3 times every 1/10 mile. Could anyone help me find the easiest way to get behind the glass and lubricate this trip odometer.?. Thanks
