2017 E300 /W213 Rear Brake Pad Issue

2017 E300/W213 Rear Brake pad Issue

Refreshing my brake pads on the E300. Fronts changed very well – no issues removing or installing the new pads. I did have to use the pad caliper push back tool to compress the caliper pistons into their bore – no problem.

Rear pads: Issues – First – using the secret menu to get to the menu I don’t recall whether I heard the noise of the electric motor retracting the piston back into its bore.
I installed the new pads then tried to fit the caliper bracket over the pads and “no joy” the piston was sticking maybe 1/16inch from being flush.

Questions:
Does the E300 use a wind back tool to further compress the pistons back into their bore – or- will the normal piston compressor perform that task?

Thanks for any input
kgl
