85' 190e runs rough when cold
Can any one help? I have 85' 190e 2.3 and it runs rough when cold .
specifically hard to start 4-5 cranks. then it idles fine but to try and throttle off idle it spits and sputters until its hot then runs well. I suspect either cold start valve, auxiliary air device, or the electromagnetic pressure actuator. Can anyone give me ohm readings for these parts so I don't spen a fortune replacing things I don't need. Any other help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sean |

The fuel system computer must power up the EHA (fuel control regulator) so that the engine can run rich when cold.
Sounds like the over-voltage relay isn't powering up the computer. This is a common problem. Also many times the wires at the EHA break & no power can get there to richen the mixture.

just one piece of experience - my 190e 2.3 (85) was running rough when cold - replaced plugs, cap/rotor, wires, injectors, air/fuel filter, OVP relay, etc. - nothing helped. replaced the oxygen sensor, runs absolutely fine now, even on cold engine. Maybe something else in your case though!
