I've had a 1988 420 Sel for two weeks and think it's a great car. All of the post I've seen about the timing chain problems have me worried. How serious of a problem is it for this model? What are the warning signs of a worn chain or rail? My car has 120,000. Many people told me that was nothing for a MB but now I'm not sure. Worried about nothing or not?

Simply have it checked...ESPECIALLY THE LEFT SIDE CHAIN RAILS. I HAVE SEEN MANY BREAK AND KILL ENGINES.
