p0116 code on 1996 C280
Greetings Forum,
I have been getting the P0116 code /check engine light on my 1996 C-280. ECT, SENSOR/ CIRCUIT/ PERFORMANCE. To date, I have replaced the sensor, the code came back. After reading some threads and learning that the computer can set some erroneous codes, I thought my problem might also be an MAF sensor problem as the car has been sluggish of the mark and at hiway speeds and it was the original MAF and near the end of its life anyway. The code comes back usually within 200 miles and I am wondering if It could be a loose connection / broken wire? A wiring diagram or suggestions what else to check would be greatly appreciated. My email is martykelly2@gmail.com thank you in advance, Marty. |

I Will change the thermostat ASAP,
(the water pump was replaced last year, you could be on to something... maybe the shop put in a thermostat that was not quite up to spec) I will post the results after install. |
