190e 300e 4 speed trany vac modulator difference?
So I am swapping the 4 speed 422.410 auto transmission out of my 1986 2.3 -16v auto from the US with a good low mileage 4 speed auto tranny from a 1990 2.5-16v euro car. Should be basically the same transmission Right? So most of the parts I am replacing, seals and gaskets and flex disks to install this are the same part number as my 2.3-16 US. BUT the 2.3 US car has a green vacuum modulator on it and the parts catalogs show a green one, however the Euro 2.5-16v from 1990 has a tan or beige plastic vacuum modulator on it. I wanted to put a new on on since it is easy to do now and will have to be reset anyhow. Pulling up the VIN shows this modulator is part number 1262702479, which is discontinued and I think replaced with 1262708979. This shows to be the modulator for most 1990 2.6 190E. Also there is a red one that is part number 126-270-90-79 for these cars. Which one should I use and what difference does it make? My 2.3-16v uses the green one, can I just use that one or do I need to find and aftermarket tan one?
