W210 steering rack leek

Hello i have a 1997E420 sportline. The steering rack has a leek on the top (where the shaft connects to the steering wheel shaft)
The dealer doesnt offer any seal kit for this particular leek.I am just wondering if anybody ever had to spend U$1550 because a seal is not available .Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated
Thanx

I also have not been able to locate seals, had to replace 2 of my customers racks due to leaking.
