Tachometer on 95 E300 Diesel

My tach is not working. I was told it was some how linked to the AC clutch cut out....I have done some searching on this and other forums, but most of the threads for for earlier models. Can someone point me to troubleshooting this problem?
Thanks

Overvoltage Protection Relay. It is behind the battery, behind the splash-shield, has a fuse on top under a clear cover. Sometimes the fuse goes bad, but often the relay is bad, I keep a spare as I've replaced one on all but one of my 124s.

Oh OK, that makes sense. But from reading thru the other threads, it appears this relay covers the AC and the Tach. My AC is working fine....so could it still be this relay?

Not sure, some had a single circuit, others dual. I'm not familiar enough with the '95 E300 wiring.

could still be the OVP relay, there should be a separate relay for the AC with 'KLIMA' written on it.

Could very well be a bad OVP relay.

Best way to check it is with a known good spare.

OK, the OVP relay fixed the problem. However, I don't see a relay with KLIMA on it. But the AC and the Tach now work perfectly.
Thanks for all the help.

I doubt if you have an aftermarket a/c. I don't remember if they have the Klima or not on this year. If you have one it is a little further towards the firewall from the OVP relay.

Just to update this for those searching like myself and have information that could help.

On the 95 E300D, the Klima relay is actually labelled D-KLI/KD and my particular 95 has a part number of 003 545 69 05
