STAR system results legend

I'm considering the purchase of a 2004 E320 Wagon. I requested that the seller have his local Mercedes dealership run a computer test on all the control systems.

Most showed a check which I guess means that that unit is within the required parameters. Other units received an "F" or "f" and still others received an "i" with a box around it. Also, the Battery Voltage showed to be 11.64V which is probably low. Unfortunately, no legend was on the copy that the seller emailed me.

I would deeply appreciate someone explaining what the legend for these results are. Thank you in advance!

Star checks for every possible computer / control box so if your car does not have that particular system, it will come up as fail / can't communicate / not there.

From what I recall, there is a quick system check that looks to see if a system has triggered a trouble code. The 2nd level is a more in depth one where trouble codes are listed.

I don't recall what the letters designate but the servicing dealer should have that info.

The "!" symbol means communication with the control unit isn't possible......
