Not running 1987 190E
My 1987 190E 8 valve developed a miss at idling, then it progressed to a stutter when accelerating, and now the car just doesn't run at all. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotary button, and now the fuel distributor itself. It strats because of the cold start, but then it dies! There is no fuel coming thru the fuel distributor in the old one or the new (used) one. The compression on all 4 cylinders is from 159 to 172. The local Mercedes dealer wants $150.00 to diagnose the car, but I'm at the end of my wits and really thinking about selling the car to a junk yard! But I really love this car!! Please help!

Instead of mentioning another couple parts it "could be", at this point, after wasting all this money (fuel distributor?!), don't you think the wise thing to do is cough up the hundred and a half to have it diagnosed properly?

Do you mean there is no fuel coming out of the ports on the fuel distributor to the injectors, or no fuel returning to the tank?? Do you have pressure from the pump to the inlet of the fuel disributor??

190's have a problem with the connection for the idle valve under the intake. IF it pops off the car won't stay running! This is a very common problem.
