06 E350 will NOT go into Sport Mode

I just bought a 2006 E350 W211 wagon that is a very nice car but it will absolutely not shift from "Comfort" to "Sport" mode. I have tried it in Park, Neutral and Drive, moving and stationary - all without success. The previous owner told me that he had never even tried it. Does anyone have any ideas? It would be most appreciated!

Hi Ron...check out the tech article below. I had a similar issue happen where I was unable to go from standard to sport mode because the computer kept overriding it "for safety' reasons due to a faulty sensor. I've attached a link to a tech article below that could help you troubleshoot if there is an issue with the shifter itself. If you need more tech info, post a Comment just below the article and someone will get back to you with more detailed info. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Dmitry, you are indeed a nice guy for posting this! Just what i need, although I was hoping for a software fix. Thanks very much!

Do you happen to know the location of the fuse that handles the front cigarette lighter? I have no power there nor does the glove box light work. All existing fuses are intact but there are lots of open slots and unfortunately the paper MBZ chart of fuses is missing. I have the wagon with fuses in the engine compartment in front of the driver and in the end of the dashboard by the driver.

Ron, you should be able to buy a new fuse card from your local MB dealer.
