best way to disable an aftermarket-installed alarm
hey guys-- I bought used 1999 Toyota camry for my kid. the car has an alarm that I would like to take off.
any tips that I should be aware of before I venture into the unknown? could I just snip away to isolate the alarm module? would that work?

Find where the alarm is tapped into the factory wiring. Remove everything that has been added.

If it's an integrated OE alarm, try this - 1999 Toyota Camry Anti Theft System - Camry Forums - Toyota Camry Forum

Some alarms have starter disable circuits, so before you start snipping away, take a pic of the module so we can identify it, & thus help you get a wiring diagram for the alarm.
