Started my 1991 300e this morning and heard what sounded sort of like a buzzing somewhere in the dash. Looked at gauges and none were working except speedometer and clock. No tach, fuel, oil or, water. Any suggestions?

Try replacing the fuse (one does all of the functions for the gauges you described)

I hope you attended to your blown fuse -- for you and anyone else reading this, multiple dead gauges indeed indicate a blown fuse, but realize that in many models, the stop lamps are also powered by this fuse -- you may not have realized your stop lights were out, but know this for next time.
