My Climate conrtrol has been getting progressivly worse, if it's on the Off or Economy mode the A/C compressor keeps swiching on unless you hold the Off or Econo buttons down with your finger, so I beleave the problems a bad or coroded contacts at the switch. Can the box be taken apart? contacs cleaned? sort of like the seat adjustment switchs. I know that the rebuilders say "if you open it we don't want it". Or should I just go for the rebuilt unit? The best thing you can do is replace the Pushbutton control unit, new or rebuilt.

The problem usually isn't in the contacts of the pushbuttons but actually cracks in the attaching points of the board to the temp wheel and the male pins. You will have to replace the control unit in most cases to solve the problem. Good news is that there are rebuilt units available from your independent parts supplier.

Thanks, haveing been a mechanic for over 15 years,(retired now) I have a tendancy to want to take it apart and fix it, but opening up this unit would have made it worthless for trade-in, Thanks again, Chris C.
