280ce left front window fitment

I'm trying to get my windows to sit properly but I don't know where is the correct spot for them to be sitting in regards to the weather stripping. If I could see how other people have there's set that would be great. I can't seem to find any good pictures of it on Google. So if you guys could post a couple pics thanks.

I was unable to find info on the actual window placement, so I'm hope other members will chime in.

@Mike D - this is for a 280CE (W123).

It's a 85 euro w/ electric windows, I got it close but not perfect. By the mirror is where it doesn't seem to fit right, there is a small gap like the mirror needes to be pushed in or the weather strip needes to be pulled out. I'll try and get a pic up later

Not that it really matters but you say it is a "Euro" with electric windows. Are you saying the car is a RHD ("proper" as the Brits might say) or a LHD?

I can send you the PDF for the alignment procedure but it would have to be in an email as it is too large of a file to attach.

I could send it to Dmitry and perhaps he could post it on the "Wikki" links page.

Oh, by the way, welcome to the coupe windows' on-going problems. I've got two coupes and adjusting the windows seem to be an annual event.

mbenz280ce, as far as I know adjusting the window is the trial-and-error method. It's important to understand how small adjustments affect the fit, and only make small adjustments at a time so as not to break the window, or cause the motor to fail. I have a 1991 300CE and the front windows have never required adjustment in the 16 years I have owned this vehicle.

The 1992 300CE that we bought in 1999 with an extended warranty had front window alignment issues. The MB dealer adjusted the windows at no charge due to the warranty, but I recall the tech remarking how difficult the adjustment was because there are no adjustment screws per se. It's a matter of loosening the regulator bolts, shifting the window slightly, retightening the bolts and operating the window to check the fit ... repeated trial-and-error. Besides these cars are few-and-far-between so techs seldom have the opportunity to become proficient making the window adjustments.

Mike - if possible, add the PDF as an attachment for now and we'll see if we can integrate it down the line into our tech articles. The 'wiki' section that you're referencing does not have active links anymore. Thanks for your help.
