Update on 1999 e55 amg with 202k

Ok guys and gals....

I am down to the nice to have fixes only on my 1999 e55 amg. The last thread I posted was about blowing a fuse in the headlight switch module. Well as it turned out I tried to wash my light control module which is under the back seat on drivers side, in tide laundry detergent. While clean, tide has a tendency to melt connectors which in turn shorted wires....bottom line...replace control module and do a bunch of splicing to fix connector...

So there are a couple more fixes that I am in the process of doing...a couple are cosmetic and the other is mechanical....electrical....
1. Replace top of armrest in between seats as hinge has broken
2. Replace speaker grill cover on dash drivers side
3. Replace suspected faulty oil level sensor...

The most important is the oil level sensor which supposedly sends level to ecu within minutes of starting car....well, after a few minutes of driving, I will get the following errors in no specific order....

1. Oil level sensor faulty
2. Engine oil level low....after oil change

Hopefully on right track...

Change oil level sensor

Jim,

(Engine atwork)

Is the sensor the only part to change or is there also a sending unit

It will be mounted to bottom of oil pan. I've always called it oil level sensor/sending unit should be same thing.
