W201 warm start

I have a 1989 2.6. If it gets up to temp and then I shut it off it won't crank up for about an hour. I have replaced fuel pumps, filter and accumulator. In addition when it is running and in gear the idle is rough at times. If I idle in gear with the A/C running it almost dies. Any ideas would be appreciated. I read a lot of posts and that is what lead me to the accumulator but I changed it out and no change.

Just curious, have you checked all of your Idle Control Valve vacuum hoses. When was the last time you replaced them? They need to be soft and tightly connected. Mine became hard and brittle over the years. If you check them, be sure to also check the one that connects to the intake boot.

Check whether it's fuel or soark that isn't available on warm restarts. Does it catch but not stay running or does it not catch at all?

Thanks. The hoses to the ICV seem to be okay. From the little bit of service history that I have from the previous owner it appears that the hoses were replaced about four years ago. I did take the ICV off and cleaned it and still the same. If I turn the key to on then the ICV clicks after about 10 seconds.
I think the warm start issue is fuel. If I crank for 30 seconds or so with the accelerator down then I get a little backfire but that is it.

Do you hear the fuel pump/s humming when you turn the key to ON for a warm start?

Yes I can hear the fuel pumps when the key is in on. Thanks for the input please keep any suggestions coming. I have a buddy that is sending me an ICV that he took off of a running car but I'm not that hopeful about it solving the problem because I already cleaned mine and hooked it up to 12v and it opened and then closed when I unhooked it. I was hopeful that the fuel accumulator would take cars of the problem but no luck.

I don't think the ICV is your problem. Can you feel the ICV pulsating when the engine is running? With the engine running, do the RPM's jump up if you if you unplug the ICV? When the engine is hot and won't start, remove the air cleaner, do you see the round plate being sucked down slightly when cranking the engine?

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions. I think I solved my problem but I am embarrassed to admit what it was. Apparently while changing my OVP a couple of months ago I did not seat it all the way down. I had no issues until this. However, I made sure it was seated properly and now no issues. Idle is much better and no warm start issues. Thanks again
