Can someone help me with connections/directions etc , I am looking for a complete used sunroof for my 1986 , 560 SEC.

Scrap yard is probably your friend. A sunroof from a 2nd gen W126, W124, or W140 should fit.

LKQ does an excellent job cross referencing replacement parts and locating.

SEC is different in size from sedan. If it's a gen. II with the tilting mechanism you can also install the sunroof from a W140 coupe. You will need the mechanism from the W140 coupe, the plus side is they are made out of metal instead of plastic like in the W126.

So W140 coupe sunroof from all years will be a perfect match for my car?

If your 560SEC has the tilting sunroof a W140 coupe sunroof (glass!) will fit. You will need all the mechanism and the sliding/cover from the W140. W140 coupes were pretty rare but it's an option.
